Ed has served as a member of the Security Innovation Board of Directors since its inception in 2002 and took over as CEO in 2003. Before his work at Security Innovation, Ed held senior management positions at Rational Software, Lionbridge, Ipswitch, and MathSoft. He was also an engineer for the US Army and Foster-Miller earlier in his career.

Ed is a Ponemon Institute Research Fellow, Privacy by Design Ambassador by the Information & Privacy Commissioner of Canada, Forbes Technology Council Member, and recipient of multiple SC Magazine’s Reboot Leadership Awards. He sits on the board of Cyversity, a non-profit committed to advancing minorities in the field of cyber security and is a BoSTEM Advisory Committee member. He also held a top-secret clearance from the DOD. Prior to his role at Accenture Security, Richard was the CTO of Dispersive Networks. Past employers include Ciena Corporation (where he held the positions of Senior Principal Engineer and Senior Manager), Scientific Atlanta, Motorola and Siemens. Richard is an SME for ZTNA, SASE, SSE and related security technologies for network security including 5G, WiFi, SD-WAN, SatComm, enterprise, cloud, and distributed devices.
